Is it a children-friendly resort?
No, this is not a children-friendly resort. Most facilities and services are only available to guests over 16 years old. During school holidays, however, we know that many couples wish to combine their wellness holiday with time with the family. During these holiday periods, we offer a Kids Club in a location away from the resort’s main areas in order to maintain the tranquil and relaxing atmosphere our wellness guests expect. The Kids Club is rich in activities and offers extended hours so parents can take full advantage of all the programmes and activities at Longevity.
Is it a single-friendly resort?
Longevity receives many guests who come on their own to detoxify, relax and pamper, as well as for structured wellness programs – including weight management, stress reduction, executive wellness, group wellness coaching retreats and group fitness bootcamps.
Depending on the guest’s preferences one can enjoy much needed solitude, or given Longevity’s relaxing ambiance, develop friendships naturally and spontaneously with other guests.
Is alcohol served?
Longevity boasts a creative selection of low-calorie, alcohol-free cocktails and shakes mixed with fresh and antioxidant fruit juices to promote the adoption of healthy drinking as a lifestyle habit.
Our approach to wellness relies on a well-balanced lifestyle where wine can have its place if consumed in moderation. This balance is fostered at the resort and guests in general are allowed a moderate consumption of wine. Guests who are on a wellness program, however, are not allowed to drink alcohol as part of their personalized meal plan which is usually aimed at detoxifying and/or weight loss.
Is smoking allowed?
Smoking is not permitted inside the building of the resort. Per Portuguese law, smoking cannot be forbidden outside the building.

The earlier one starts the better. Prevention is key to maintaining a good quality of life.

What is Longevity Medical Spa’s unique approach to nutrition, weight management, detox, well-being and anti-ageing?
Poor lifestyle habits that are under our control – such as stress, poor nutrition, lack of physical activity, pollution, psycho-emotional imbalances, dehydration, smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, and poor quality of sleep – can lead to serious risk factors associated with age-related and chronic diseases, including cancer, diabetes, obesity, hypertension, hormonal imbalances, osteoporosis and arteriosclerosis.
As we age and these lifestyle imbalances increase, we become more susceptible to the long-term effects of oxidative stress (a condition where the body basically has too many free radicals) and inflammation. Antioxidants and other age-defying compounds help cells ward off damage from free radicals and reduce the natural ageing process.
Longevity follows an evidence-based scientific diagnostic approach to identify health imbalances and then design a client-centred wellness plan combining detoxifying and rebalancing strategies. These include nutrition, fitness, osteopathy, neutraceuticals, ozonotherapy, and mineral and vitamin intravenous drips in combination with relaxation spa rituals designed to detoxify, improve circulation, improve muscle tone, break down fatty deposits, improve oxygen circulation and provide a deep relaxation experience.
Longevity’s nutritional approach is a pillar of our overall anti-ageing model and is based on cellular rejuvenation medicine, originally conceptualized by double-Nobel laureate Linus Pauling. Cellular molecular nutrition is a scientifically based approach that seeks to optimize cellular functioning – the manner in which cells absorb nutrients required for cellular regeneration – a process whereby cells have the natural capacity to regenerate.
Longevity’s nutritional model follows a preventive approach that seeks to identify and correct deficiencies in essential nutrients, vitamins and minerals. With today’s high-stress lifestyle, a large majority of the population suffers from immunity, hormonal, cardiovascular, circulatory and inflammation-related imbalances. The Longevity Medical Spa team uses biophysical, medical and nutritional evaluation tools to assess imbalances – and then addresses the problems with a personalized meal plan (anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, low-glycemic and low-sodium foods) and neutraceutical supplementation. In a matter of just days, guests begin to feel the revitalizing effects in their skin, digestive system, energy levels and overall state.
Guests on structured wellness programs enjoy 5 meals per day (3 main meals + morning and afternoon snacks), and are surprised to learn that they can lose weight and waist volume without starving, improve muscle mass, reduce water retention, improve metabolic rate, and enhance overall self-esteem. This is the key to Longevity’s sustainable weight management and overall well-being and vitality.
Which key health needs do Longevity’s programmes address? How long are the programmes?
Our guests usually choose from the following “best-seller” programmes:
Our structured programmes vary in duration from 2 nights to 30 nights. The longer the duration the deeper the anti-ageing diagnostics and therefore the degree of personalization and impact on one’s health.
Guests may also book our standard accommodation offer, Discover Longevity, and upon arrival select from our wide range of a la carte menus.
Why is it important to detoxify the body regularly?
The body’s primary elimination organs are the liver, kidneys, skin, bowels, lungs and lymphatic system. Poor lifestyle, pollution, exposure to chemicals and genetic predisposition to certain diseases all contribute to cellular dysfunction due to toxin accumulation, low oxygen levels from reaching core organs, metabolic dysfunctions – all pre-requisites to degenerative illnesses. It is essential to combat free radical cellular attacks and re-boot our bodies with a deep detox along with a surplus of premium water, antioxidants, nutrients and oxygen. Seasonal detoxifying twice per year is recommended to cleanse the organs and return balance and harmony to the entire system.
What does a week of Detox look like at Longevity?
Please read a schedule sample of our Longevity Essential Detox 7 night programme.
Please read a descriptive narrative of a full week of experiences during a Longevity Essential Detox 7 night programme.
I am interested in trying Ozonotherapy, Vitamin & Mineral Intravenous, and Anti-Ageing Blood Analysis – can anyone book these medical treatments?
Yes, and given that no two people are the same, these treatments require a preventive medicine consultation with one of Longevity’s doctors for a comprehensive medical assessment to allow for the personalization of an anti-ageing prescription plan.
What is the difference between the Wellness, Detox and Slimming Meal Plans?
Longevity believes in the power of foods to heal, prevent diseases and promote health and vitality, therefore much attention and specification has been placed in the Medical Spa program nutritional menus. All three menus are based on Longevity’s nutritional approach to disease prevention:
- All contain the correct ratio of nutrient rich foods in the right quantities
- Anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, Mediterranean-based diet
- Low-glycemic, low-sodium, rich in Omega 3-6-9, rich in natural fiber, high water content, rich in vital minerals, vitamins and trace elements, alkaline foods, anti-cancer foods, fresh, with the optimized portion of organic, biological locally sourced ingredients
